The passing of FiftyOneFifty

It is with deep sadness we announce that another of our hosts and friends Donald Grier, known to us as FiftyOneFifty, has passed away.

FiftyOneFifty's frat brother Randy Hall has written an lovely piece. The team at Linuxlugcast are preparing our own tribute if you want to contribute an audio file you can email Honkeymagoo or join the show.

This presentation describes the installation of Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 to dual boot with Windows 10 Home on an HP Spectre x360-13 laptop. Previously, I had been using Linux in a virtual machine on Windows. After the update, there was a very significant improvement in performance working in Linux without the Windows/VM overhead. It turned out to not be difficult and was certainly worth doing.

Excellent tutorial

This was an excellent tutorial on how to get dual deployment working. If I ever need to do this or know someone that does, I will send them here.

Steve, thanks for the comment. There seems to be a perception that Windows 10 is harder to deal with than previous versions, and it really isn't. I hope the show helps someone get started on a useful project.
