The passing of FiftyOneFifty

It is with deep sadness we announce that another of our hosts and friends Donald Grier, known to us as FiftyOneFifty, has passed away.

FiftyOneFifty's frat brother Randy Hall has written an lovely piece. The team at Linuxlugcast are preparing our own tribute if you want to contribute an audio file you can email Honkeymagoo or join the show.

Our thoughts go out to his friends and family at this difficult time.

Hacker Public Radio (HPR) is an Internet Radio show (podcast) that releases shows every weekday Monday through Friday. HPR has a long lineage going back to Radio FreeK America, Binary Revolution Radio & Infonomicon, and it is a direct continuation of Twatech radio. Please listen to StankDawg's "Introduction to HPR" for more information.

Knowing how much I hate editing, I hope everyone can get a sense for how much I appreciate all the people who took the time to contribute to the project.

If you haven't contributed a show yet, well today is a perfect day to get involved. Just click our contribute link: http://hackerpublicradio.org/contribute.php

Thanks for the memories

Thanks for the great ep, everything one needs to know about HPR in ten minutes. I appreciate the amount of time that you must have spent editing.

Not what I was expecting...

That was...awe-inspiring!

From the description and the fact that it was "only" ten minutes as reported by the feed, I was expecting a short simple retrospective of some sort.

Instead, I ended up literally slack-jawed as I listened and realized that if you got everyone who has contributed to HPR at least once together and just had them announce themselves that it'd still take over *8 minutes* to get through all of them...so far.

I hope you saved all that as a starting point for when the 3000th episode comes up! That was a LOT of original audio to dig through.
