Our old thermostat was breaking down to the point that we could not change the temperature, so it was time for a change. And since smart thermostats have gotten pretty good I decided that I wanted to install one and take more control of my environment.

Addendum

A bit after the installation I noticed that the A/C would turn on, but no cold came out. So I called a professional. He verified that I had installed the thermostat correctly. But I forgot to turn the breaker back on for the Condensor unit.
